RN Consultant, Minnesota

Job description:

Are you a nursing leader feeling burnt out from endless on-call responsibilities and longing for your personal time back? What if you could step into a role where your expertise is valued, your work-life balance is respected, and you’re supported every step of the way? Advanced Health Institute (AHI) offers exactly that.

Based in Minneapolis-Saint Paul, MN, AHI is a rapidly growing organization specializing in providing leadership and operational expertise to Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs). We’re seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) with leadership expertise to join our team as consultants providing interim leadership and operational support.

What Sets Us Apart:

At AHI, you’ll continue to utilize your leadership skills in roles like Director of Nursing (DON), Nurse Manager, RN Support or Director of Health Services (DHS)—but with a difference. While serving in these interim leadership roles, you’ll experience far fewer on-call demands, with no after-hours staffing calls. However, as a leader, you may occasionally be contacted regarding significant events within the community. This balanced approach allows you to focus on providing expertise and support without the overwhelming demands of 24/7 availability.

Our consultants step into communities that truly need their expertise, providing stability and guidance in areas like regulatory compliance, staffing challenges, turnover, and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as interim leadership (e.g., DON, Nurse Manager, or DHS) in Assisted Living or SNF settings, guiding teams through critical transitions.

  • Assist with the implementation of systems and processes tailored to the client’s unique needs.

  • Provide regulatory guidance and support for compliance issues.

  • Collaborate with clients to address challenges such as staffing, turnover, and operational risks.

While this role requires travel—ranging from Monday-Friday stays to 10-day rotations for distant assignments—you’ll have the chance to explore a rewarding career that prioritizes balance and support.

Why Join AHI?

  • Work-Life Balance: Significantly reduced on-call demands, with no after-hours staffing calls.

  • Growth Opportunities: Develop into specialized roles like survey readiness or plan of correction consulting.

  • Team Support: You’re never alone—we provide the tools, resources, and guidance you need to succeed.

Competitive Compensation & Benefits:

  • Dental, vision, and health insurance

  • Paid time off and sick leave

  • Travel reimbursement

  • Continuing education credits

Who You Are:

  • A licensed RN in Minnesota with leadership experience in Skilled Nursing or Assisted Living.

  • A seasoned professional who thrives in challenging environments, confident in your ability to manage risk, ensure compliance, and lead teams through transitions.

  • A collaborative problem-solver who values work-life balance and is excited to make a difference in the long-term care industry.

Ready for a change?

If you’re ready to leave burnout behind and step into a fulfilling role that values your expertise while giving you your weekends back, apply today! Join AHI and help transform communities while reclaiming your own balance.

  • Provide training and support to staff on new protocols and procedures.
